Tungenes Lighthouse and Randabergfjellet circuit

På RandabergfjelletSunday walk for English-speaking walkers

 

 

Description: 
Tungenes lighthouse stands on the most northerly point of Jaeren. The sea views on this walk are superb but its exposed location means it can be windy.  We start the walk at Mekjarvik ferry terminal, then walk onto to Tungenes lighthouse. After the lighthouse, the coastline gets a little rocky before reaching Sande beach.  Our final destination is Randabergfjellet and although only 73 metres high has spectacular views of the coast.  This is a return walk which takes around three and a half hours.

The trip is suitable for adults and children above 12 years accompanied by parents.

Transport:

Take bus 28 from Stavanger centre (opposite the Atlantic Hotel) at 14.30. If you want to drive to Randaberg you can catch the bus at 14.53.  The walk starts from Mekjarvik at 15.00 and will take around three to three and a half hours.  We will return with bus 8.

Start of walk:
Mekjarvik ferry terminal at 15.00.  If you want to drive, it is best to catch the bus at Randaberg as we will not be returning to Mekjarvik.
